Artist’s Statement

Continuing a 10,000 year tradition of woman’s work, Barbara Rubright Wearables designs and hand-weaves contemporary clothing for women. Her connection to her craft is reinforced by a strong background in art history and informed by current travel. In these hand-woven wearables fine threads of silk, linen, and mohair marry texture and color to ensure drama.

Punctuated by a high level of craftsmanship, Barbara continues to incorporate new methods into her design. It is her hope that the woven thread wraps the spirited woman and continues to delight her as it does the artist.
